Level 3A – Ages 4–8 | High Need – Tactile Programme
Children with tactile sensitivities may react strongly to certain fabrics, seams, or unexpected touch. They might pull at clothing, avoid contact, or become unsettled by textures that others barely notice. These reactions can make it harder to concentrate, stay comfortable, or join in everyday activities, often affecting confidence, focus, and emotional balance.
The Level 3A Tactile Programme is designed for children aged 4 to 8 who need greater support to feel safe and comfortable with touch. Through calming, sensory-based activities, the programme helps the nervous system adapt to tactile input at a manageable pace. Each game gently builds tolerance and trust, supporting emotional regulation and physical confidence. Over time, children become calmer, more comfortable in their own skin, and more able to join in daily routines with ease.
If you’ve just completed our free online assessment, this is the level recommended for your child. If not, the assessment is always available to help guide your choice. Whether there’s a diagnosis, a flagged need, or simply something you’ve noticed, this programme offers targeted support that’s practical, affordable, and ready to make a real difference in everyday family life.
The programme features eight sensory-rich movement and tactile games including; Body Washing, Face Painting, Mad Creatures, and Zips. These structured, playful activities help reduce tactile defensiveness, improve body awareness, and promote calm focus through gentle, repetitive movement.
Each session takes less than 10 minutes a day, ideally 5 times a week, and progresses through a 16 week plan.
The programme includes:
- Eight targeted games
- A visual progress tracker
- Flexible pacing options
- Shared goal-setting activity
- Additional Day-to-day recommendations
- Tips and support to help you get the most from every session.
