8 Week Muscle Tone PE Programme – Ages 8 to 9
Some children in Key Stage 2 still find it difficult to maintain posture, strength, and stamina during physical activity. They may tire quickly, lose form during movement, or struggle to control their body when running, jumping, or throwing. These challenges can affect confidence, coordination, and performance, making it harder to engage fully in games and PE lessons.
The 8 Week Muscle Tone PE Programme provides a complete, ready to teach plan for helping 8 to 9 year olds strengthen muscle tone, balance, and postural control. The lessons focus on building endurance and stability in the core, legs, and shoulders — key areas for controlled, confident movement. Over the course of the programme, pupils develop stronger, more coordinated movement patterns and greater confidence in sport and active play.
Ideal for whole class PE, small SEN groups, or enrichment sessions, each lesson follows a consistent three part structure — Activation, Exploration, and Integration — beginning with dynamic warm up games, followed by strength building activities, and finishing with targeted exercises to refine control and posture.
Each lesson is available in two flexible formats:
- 20 minute lessons for short sessions or warm ups
- 40 minute lessons for full curriculum delivery
The PDF download includes 23 progressive games and movement activities across 8 weekly lesson plans, designed to save teachers planning time while promoting measurable improvement in strength and endurance. Every activity includes clear learning goals, teacher guidance, and easy to follow instructions, no specialist PE training required. Whether you are a PE lead, class teacher, or support staff, this resource helps you deliver engaging, inclusive PE that builds strength, stability, and confidence for every child.
