Sways

Sways helps improve balance and coordination by increasing awareness of subtle changes in the vestibular system, enhancing overall body control and reaction time.

The Balanced Warrior

The Balanced Warrior helps improve balance, posture, and full-body coordination while strengthening the muscles along the back side of the body, including the core and legs.

Grounding the Body

Grounding the Body is a calming activity enhances body awareness and sensory integration through rhythmic breathing and gentle pressure, helping your child tune into their body’s sensations.

Snow Angels

Snow Angels helps improve your child’s spatial awareness (proprioception), coordination and calms the spinal Galant reflex. It’s a simple, enjoyable way to enhance balance and motor skills.

Silent Mirrors

Silent Mirrors is a fun and collaborative activity enhancing coordination, body awareness, and teamwork while fostering non-verbal communication.

The Flow of Breath

The Flow of Breath is a calming activity that helps improve self-awareness, emotional regulation, and sensory focus through mindful breathing.

The Healing Orb

The Healing Orb is a calming, imaginative activity that promotes emotional resilience and self-esteem by visualising and creating a healing energy orb.

Magical Torch Adventures

Magical Torch Adventures is an imaginative activity designed to promote relaxation, self-healing, and a positive connection with the body.

Level 1B – Ages 9–14 | Mild Need – Body Awareness Programme

 

Some children seem unsure of their movements, misjudge space, slouch, or find tasks like writing, sports, or copying exercises physically uncomfortable. These signs may indicate difficulties with body awareness – the ability to sense, organise, and control the body in space. When body awareness is underdeveloped, it can affect physical confidence, classroom engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

 

This programme is designed to help. If you’ve just completed our free online assessment, this is the level recommended for your child. If not, the assessment is always available to help guide your choice. Whether there’s a diagnosis, a flagged need, or simply something you’ve noticed, this programme offers targeted support that’s flexible, affordable and ready to make a difference in everyday family life.

 

The Level 1B Body Awareness programme includes eight movement-based games including; Snow Angels, The Balanced Warrior, Sways, Magical Torch Adventure, The Flow of Breath, The Healing Orb, Grounding the Body, and Silent Mirrors. These exercises support body coordination, posture, balance, and proprioception through playful, reflective, and physically grounding activities.

 

Each game is designed to activate body schema, refine spatial judgement, and improve control of large and small body movements. Repeated practice supports better motor planning and physical confidence, while also promoting positive body image and emotional balance.

 

You’ll also find practical guidance and everyday tips to support your child’s body awareness – such as sensory-rich activities, daily movement routines, and building a supportive environment for development.

 

Each session takes less than 10 minutes a day, ideally 5 times a week, and progresses through a 16 week plan.
