Small Group Coordination & Laterality Programme – Ages 4–8
This 16 week programme supports younger children with coordination difficulties through structured, movement based play.
Designed for small group delivery, it helps 4–8-year-olds who trip often, bump into things, avoid climbing or ball games, or struggle with tasks that require both sides of the body, such as writing, dressing, or using cutlery. Many have emerging motor delays, neurodivergent profiles, or need extra help developing balance and control.
The sessions use fun, targeted games to improve posture, cross-lateral movement, and spatial awareness. Activities in this PDF download include; Crazy Feet, Rocking Eyes, Caterpillars, and Take the Tourists and more, all designed to strengthen the brain–body connection and build confidence through repetition and play.
This programme includes:
- A 16 week plan split into two 8 week blocks
- 12 sensory-motor games with built-in progression
- Visual instructions and minimal equipment
- Goal-setting and pupil reflection pages
- Baseline and follow-up assessments
- Practical guide for group delivery
Each session takes just 10–15 minutes, 2–3 times per week, and fits easily into school routines. Ideal for use in nurture groups, group interventions, or as part of wider physical development support. No specialist training or equipment needed.
