Small Group Body Awareness Programme – Ages 9–14
This 16 week small group programme supports pupils aged 9–14 with low body awareness, motor coordination needs, or physical confidence issues. It helps improve posture, movement control, and self-image through structured, sensory-based games.
Some children arrive at school with poor body schema, unclear spatial boundaries, or discomfort in PE and everyday movement. This programme provides enjoyable, low-pressure sessions that strengthen the brain–body connection and help children feel more confident in their bodies and more ready to participate.
Activities in this PDF include; The Balanced Warrior, Silent Mirrors, Criss-cross Beanbags, Magical Torch Adventures, and The Healing Orb – all designed to support physical control, balance, and body confidence through specific movements, visualisation techniques and targeted exercises.
This programme also includes:
- A 16 week plan in two flexible 8 week blocks
- 12 targeted sensory-motor games
- Visual instructions and minimal equipment required
- Pupil-friendly assessment tools and progress tracking
- Goal-setting pages and a practical delivery guide
Sessions take 10–15 minutes, 2–3 times per week, and fit easily into intervention slots, nurture groups, or wider support provision. No specialist training or equipment needed
