8 Week Primitive and Postural Reflexes PE Programme – Ages 10 to 14
Some pupils in upper Key Stage 2 and early Key Stage 3 still show signs of unintegrated primitive or postural reflexes, which can make it difficult to move with control, balance, and coordination. They may slump when seated, lose posture during activity, or move with awkward timing and effort. These challenges can affect sporting ability, stamina, and confidence, making participation in PE and team activities more difficult.
The 8 Week Primitive and Postural Reflexes PE Programme provides a complete, ready to teach plan that helps 10 to 14 year olds strengthen postural control, balance, and endurance through structured movement. The activities are designed to support integration of early reflex patterns, improving body alignment, stability, and overall movement efficiency. Over time, pupils develop stronger posture, smoother coordination, and greater confidence in both individual and team-based activities.
Ideal for whole class PE, small SEN groups, or targeted skill support, each lesson follows a consistent three part structure — Activation, Exploration, and Integration — beginning with engaging warm up games, followed by progressive balance and control challenges, and finishing with focused postural stability exercises.
Each lesson is available in two flexible formats:
- 20 minute lessons for short sessions or warm ups
- 40 minute lessons for full curriculum delivery
The PDF download includes 25 progressive games and movement activities across 8 weekly lesson plans, designed to save teachers planning time while delivering clear, measurable progress. Every activity includes learning goals, teacher guidance, and easy to follow instructions, no specialist PE training required. Whether you are a PE lead, class teacher, or sports coach, this resource helps you deliver inclusive, effective PE that builds physical confidence and postural strength in every pupil.
