8 Week Body Awareness PE Programme – Ages 10 to 14
By upper Key Stage 2 and early Key Stage 3, teachers often find that some pupils still struggle to move with control, posture, and physical confidence. They may appear stiff or awkward, lose balance when changing speed or direction, or find it hard to maintain alignment during exercises or sports. These challenges can affect performance, self-esteem, and participation, making it harder for pupils to progress confidently in PE and games.
The 8 Week Body Awareness PE Programme provides a complete, ready to teach plan that helps 10 to 14 year olds improve body control, posture, and spatial awareness. It strengthens the connection between body and movement, helping pupils coordinate with accuracy, adjust effort and direction, and develop smoother, more efficient movement patterns. Over the course of the programme, pupils learn to move with greater control, balance, and confidence, key skills for success in PE, sport, and everyday activity.
Ideal for whole class PE, small SEN groups, or targeted intervention, each lesson follows a consistent three part structure — Activation, Exploration, and Integration — beginning with purposeful warm up games, followed by creative movement exploration, and finishing with focused, skill building activities.
Each lesson is available in two flexible formats:
- 20 minute lessons for short sessions or warm ups
- 40 minute lessons for full curriculum delivery
The PDF download includes 24 progressive movement games and activities across 8 weekly lesson plans, each designed to save planning time and ensure measurable progress. Every activity includes clear learning goals, teacher guidance, and easy to follow instructions, no specialist PE training required. Whether you are a PE lead, class teacher, or sports coach, this resource helps you deliver inclusive, effective lessons that strengthen body control and build lasting physical confidence.
