Level 1a – Ages 4–8 | Mild Need – Coordination and Laterality Programme
If your child struggles with coordination, body awareness, or using their left and right sides independently, this 16 week movement programme offers practical, targeted support. Designed for children aged 4–8, it helps improve motor skills, laterality, and physical confidence, essential for school readiness and everyday activities.
Many children with special educational needs (SEN), motor delays, or sensory integration difficulties face challenges with coordination and laterality, impacting handwriting, reading fluency, concentration, and participation in PE. This programme provides playful, easy-to-follow games and exercises that fit into family life, requiring less than 10 minutes a day, ideally five times per week.
If you’ve just completed our free online assessment, this is the level recommended for your child. If not, the assessment is always available to help guide your choice. Whether there’s a diagnosis, a flagged need, or simply something you’ve noticed, this programme offers targeted support that’s flexible, affordable and ready to make a difference in everyday family life.
This Level 1a programme includes eight engaging games such as Twin Heads, Baby Rolls, Speedy Flips, and Skipping and Marching. These activities encourage neural integration between brain hemispheres, cross-lateral coordination, and postural control, helping to reduce frustration and boost confidence.
Each session takes less than 10 minutes a day, ideally 5 times a week, and progresses through a 16 week plan.
The programme includes:
- Eight targeted games
- A visual progress tracker
- Flexible pacing options
- Shared goal-setting activity
- Additional Day-to-day recommendations
- Tips and support to help you get the most from every session.
