By upper Key Stage 2 and early Key Stage 3, pupils are expected to move with greater control, coordination, and awareness across a range of sports and physical challenges. However, some still struggle to judge their movements accurately, control their effort, or maintain balance and stability under pressure. These challenges can affect performance, confidence, and enjoyment in PE and games.

 

The 8 Week Proprioception PE Programme provides a complete, ready to teach plan that helps 10 to 14 year olds strengthen body awareness, balance, and postural control. The lessons focus on improving the body’s sense of position and movement through dynamic, skill-building activities. Over time, pupils develop smoother, more accurate movement patterns, greater physical confidence, and better coordination for sport and active play.

 

Ideal for whole class PE, small SEN groups, or targeted skill development, each lesson follows a consistent three part structure — Activation, Exploration, and Integration — beginning with energetic warm up games, followed by structured movement challenges, and finishing with focused activities to refine control, accuracy, and posture.

 

Each lesson is available in two flexible formats:

  • 20 minute lessons for short sessions or warm ups
  • 40 minute lessons for full curriculum delivery
