8 Week Body Awareness PE Programme – Ages 6 to 7
Many teachers find that some children still struggle to understand how their body moves and how to control it effectively. They may find it difficult to balance, move smoothly, or stay aware of others around them. Some apply too much force, rush movements, or seem unsure of how to position their body in space. These challenges can reduce confidence and participation in PE and slow progress in developing physical control and coordination.
The 8 Week Body Awareness PE Programme helps teachers deliver inclusive, developmentally focused lessons that build movement control, balance, and spatial awareness. Designed for 6 to 7 year olds, it provides a ready to teach plan that helps children move with greater accuracy, confidence, and control. Over the course of the programme, pupils learn how to manage movement speed, direction, and posture, building stronger body awareness and physical self confidence.
Ideal for whole class PE, small SEN groups, or enrichment sessions, each lesson follows a simple three part structure — Activation, Exploration, and Integration — beginning with purposeful warm up games, followed by creative movement exploration, and finishing with focused, skill building exercises.
Each lesson is available in two flexible formats:
- 20 minute lessons for short sessions or warm ups
- 40 minute lessons for full curriculum delivery
The PDF download includes 24 progressive movement games and activities across 8 weekly lesson plans, helping teachers save planning time and deliver structured, engaging lessons. Each game includes learning goals, teacher guidance, and simple, easy to follow instructions, no specialist PE training required. Whether you are a PE lead, class teacher, or support staff, this resource helps you create confident, coordinated movers through inclusive, high quality PE.
